Inter-School Sport Gala Day’s a Great Success
Our second Inter-School Sport Gala Day for this term was held on Friday 31th August. Our students participated in a range of sports including touch football, netball and rugby union. It was wonderful again to receive pleasing feedback about the behaviour and sportsmanship of our students on Friday. Our coaches reported a significant improvement by all teams in their chosen sports. We were very competitive across the park. Thank you to our staff who dedicate a large amount of their own time to coach our teams and congratulations to our students. Great job Beachmere!
Father’s Day Stall
A big thank you to our Beachmere P&C for organising and running the Father’s Day Stall last Thursday and Friday. It was great to see our students so excited to choose a gift for their Dads/Grandads or special person in their lives. We hope all had a wonderful Father’s Day on Sunday!
Road Safety Week
A big thank you to our local Police Officers, Neighbourhood Watch Volunteers and Road Safety QLD Officers for coming out last Thursday and completing safety checks and labelling our bikes and scooters. Many of our students also received free safety equipment and promotional materials to spread the Road Safety message!

Thank you to our parents and students for working hard to follow the Beachmere State School Uniform Policy. We have been doing a great job with our shorts, polo shirts and hats. Your support to ensure our students are also wearing a navy blue jumper would be greatly appreciated.

Chaplaincy Dinner – Thursday 6 September
Mr Juides is our School Chaplain and works at Beachmere State School three days per week (Mondays – Wednesdays). “Chappy” Mr Juides provides extensive support for our students, staff and parents through a variety of programs including:
- Chappy Club – games & activities at lunch breaks
- Brekky Club – held every Wednesday (7.45am)
- Social & Emotional Well-being support for students, staff & parents
Mr Juides is a treasured member of our staff and the support he provides our students is invaluable.
We need to raise the necessary funds to ensure that our chaplaincy program continues to thrive into the 2019 School Year.
Beachmere State School will host a Chaplaincy Dinner on Thursday 6 September at the Beachmere Tavern. The dinner will commence at 6.00pm and will have key-note speaker Mr Shane Webcke. Shane is a former professional rugby league player, playing for the Brisbane Broncos, Queensland Maroons and Australian Kangaroos. He is also the Channel Seven sports reporter, a position he has held since retiring from rugby league. There are still some tickets left if you would like to attend and show your support for our Chappy. For tickets, please contact the Beachmere Tavern on 5429 0122 and ask for the Duty Manager.
On Thursday 20 September, we will be welcoming the Holt Bolt team to Beachmere State School. Registered students will have the opportunity to complete the Holt Bolt obstacle course as many times as they can in 1 hour. To participate, students need to fundraise from $20 per child. Parents are also able to register and complete the course with their children. A timetable will be sent home with year level times next week. To register go to the Holt Bolt website https://theholtbolt.com/
Attendance is the Key to Learning
Great to see we have had an increase in our average attendance data last week. We have set an attendance target of 93% for all students this term. I have included below a student attendance overview per class from last week for your reference.
It is great to see that 2L, 4/5MC, 5/6B, 5G and 6M achieved above our target in week 7. Please continue to give your child the best possible start in life by ensuring he/she attends school regularly.
